1.b3 Bash by IM Levy Rozman – Your Secret Weapon for the Opening

1.b3 Bash – Your Secret Weapon with IM Levy Rozman

This course gives you a complete repertoire based on 1.b3. You are going to get an advantage by surprising your opponents, playing positions that only you’re familiar with, and your opponents are not.

You will know the nuances. You will know exactly when on move 4 or 5 they will do something inaccurate. That’s really the key idea behind this system.

Most club players play the same openings over and over again: 1.e4, 1.d4, 1.c4, 1.Nf3… you name it. You probably know those pretty well, but so does your opponent.

There is nothing wrong with that approach…

Except that you always need to be up to date with all the lines and variations in the Slav, Nimzo, Sicilian, French, and the list goes on and on.

On top of that, you need to constantly dive deeper and deeper into the opening tree to stay competitive. You have to remember TONs of opening moves just to avoid a carefully prepared trap. That’s a lot of theory, and it takes HARD WORK and many, many hours of your precious time to learn just a single line…

Is there a better way?

Wouldn’t it be great to play the opening that you know well and let your opponent do all the “struggling”? What if I told you that you could add this kind of weapon to your repertoire in a matter of DAYS, not weeks or months?

That’s the reason why today, we’re introducing the secret weapon for white – the Complete Repertoire with 1.b3

About the Author:

He has a passion for teaching chess specifically and has devoted the better part of his life developing his coaching style. Levy is a regular tournament player and a professional chess coach working with players of all ages and skill levels.

How is this course going to help me?

This opening is played by many elite players, and was used by Bobby Fischer. This is a very powerful surprise weapon which can give you an instant advantage even against the much stronger players.

1.b3 Bash by IM Levy Rozman – Your Secret Weapon for the Opening

IM Levy Rozman has played this opening for over a decade and scored many brilliant victories against opponents of all levels from 2200 FIDE to the top Grandmasters.

In this course, he shares all his secrets on the 1.b3 opening previously accessible only to a small group of his private students.

You will learn all the strategies, plans and ideas for this opening to dominate not just in a club player’s arena, but even against much stronger, titled players.

IM Rozman recommends some of the strong novelties that were never tested in the database and can immediately turn the tables on your opponent.

Armed with this powerful attacking system you will be able to win many beautiful games and pick many rating points on your way.

Lemos Deep Dive #11

How to Play The Scandinavian Defense – GM Damian Lemos

Looking for a chess opening for Black against 1.e4 which is solid, does not require an endless amount of theory to memorize and still offers decent chances to outplay your opponents?

Play the Scandinavian Defense!

With clear-cut plans and just a few variations to study, the Scandinavian Defense seems a good option for all club players who are looking for a shortcut when studying openings.

The Scandinavian Defense is a tough nut to crack. Thanks to the efforts of GM Sergey Tiviakov and other strong GMs, the Scandinavian in general, and the 3…Qd6-line in particular, have attracted more and more attention recently and have found their way back to the tournament halls.

In this comprehensive 8-hour Deep Dive course, GM Damian Lemos builds up your knowledge of this powerful opening weapon, demonstrating how to combat each of White’s sidelines and mainlines in turn.

Apart from covering all reasonable setups for White against the Scandinavian Defense, GM Lemos also shows how these ideas play out in practice through the analysis of instructive recent top level games, making sure you’re ready with the most powerful reply!

Now you’ll frustrate 1.e4 players used to playing their pet lines, forcing them to face an opening they don’t come across that often.

About the Author:

Damian Lemos is a grandmaster from Argentina with a top rating of 2559 Elo.

In his lessons, Damian works closely with students to first identify the flaws and weaknesses in their games so that they can be properly evaluated and corrected.

By developing specifically-tailored training regimens for every one of his students, Grandmaster Lemos is able to achieve results that other chess coaches dream of.

Is this course for me?

How to Play The Scandinavian Defense – GM Damian Lemos

The Scandinavian Defense – Initial position

The Scandinavian Defense is a chess opening for Black against 1.e4 which starts with the moves 1.e4 d5 (see the next diagram).

The opening is named in honor of several Scandinavian chess players who analyzed this opening in the late 19th century and showed that it’s a decent way for Black to deal with the move 1.e4.

Playing the Scandinavian Defense can be a vital alternative for all Black players who are tired of entering the highly theoretical terrain in the Ruy Lopez after 1…e5 or several sharp Sicilians after 1…c5.

The Scandinavian allows the Black player to immediately take the opponent out of his comfort zone by playing a move which is not as frequently played as against 1.e4.

The Scandinavian Defense gives you excellent winning chances due to its positional imbalances and complexities. It is a highly flexible and tricky opening where Black starts the game with a solid foundation and can then outplay the opponent positionally.

Here’s part of what you’ll see in this course:

Sidelines In The Scandinavian Defense

How to Play The Scandinavian Defense – GM Damian Lemos

Sidelines In The Scandinavian Defense

After 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5, White’s main move is by far 3.Nc3, attacking the Black queen. However, White can also start with the logical looking move 3.d4?! (see the next diagram).

White keeps his c-pawn free to advance. The downside of this move, however, is that Black can counter with 3…e5! going for an immediate clash in the center.

If White continues with 5.Nc3, attacking the Black queen, Black can play 5…Bb4, pinning the knight on c3, 6.dxe5 Qxd1+ 7.Kxd1 Nc6.

Black is temporarily a pawn down, but he gets very active piece play in return and White has difficulties to keep his extra pawn.

The pawn on e5 is currently hanging and quick developing moves like …Bg4+ and 0-0-0 are going to follow.

If White continues with 5.dxe5 Qxd1+ 6.Kxd1 Nc6 (see the diagram below), the play is very similar to the variation above.

The 3.Nc3-Variation – Early Deviations

The move 3.Nc3 is by far White’s main move and brings us closer to the mainline. In this course, GM Damian Lemos recommends the move 3…Qd6 for Black which gained some popularity for the last years, mainly thanks to the efforts of the Dutch GM Sergey Tiviakov.

With 3…Qd6, Black keeps his queen close to the center and stops Bc1-f4. The queen is slightly at risk on d6, but Black has got rid of White’s center in return.

Model Games in The Scandinavian Defense

In order to properly learn a new opening, it is not enough to take a close look at theoretical lines. You also need to study some classical model games which were played from the opening you want to play.

Checking complete games has various advantages. First of all, you get a better overall understanding of the positions arising from your opening. The focus is less on theory than on the general understanding of the resulting middlegame and endgame positions.

As the famous Grandmaster Yasser Seirawan once put it: “Study entire games. Your study can become disjointed if you just learn an opening set-up. Don’t just study the opening and early middlegame but instead play the entire game. Don’t just stop when your side has a good position.”

That said, the Scandinavian Defense is flexible enough to allow you to vary a little from one game to the next, thus avoiding your opponents’ specific preparation.

Chess Openings Mastery - GM Damian Lemos Deep Dive CollectionGM Lemos’ Deep Dive Collection – Vol. 01 – 11

Chess openings knowledge is crucial in competitive chess. Between equal players, it often makes the difference between winning and drawing.

However, up till now, most opening instruction has been very general – good enough so you know what you’re doing but without the detail required to give you the competitive edge in tournaments.

GM Damian Lemos has addressed that with his acclaimed Deep Dive series.

As the name suggests, Damian gives you the deep knowledge you need to outplay your opponents in specific openings.

Despite the advanced nature of the courses, no prior knowledge is required as Damian begins each course with a comprehensive overview of each one of the chess openings that he covers, explaining the ideas behind the opening and the plans for each side.

About the Author:

Damian Lemos is a grandmaster from Argentina who has reached a rating of 2559 Elo.

Damian Lemos was no stranger to success from an early age, achieving the FIDE Master title at only 14 years old, International Master at 15, and Grandmaster at 18.

In his lessons, Damian works closely with students to first identify the flaws and weaknesses in their games so that they can be properly evaluated and corrected. By developing specifically-tailored training regimens for every one of his students, Grandmaster Lemos is able to achieve results that other chess coaches dream of.

If you want an opening system to call your own, one which you can force your opponents into and then outplay them with your expertise, master the London System with GM Lemos’ Deep Dive course!

Is this course for me?

Chess Openings Mastery – GM Damian Lemos Deep Dive Collection

GM Lemos will provide you with the basic knowledge on each one of the chess openings that he covers in this series, once you have that level of understanding, Damian goes into each variation, explaining how to counter every idea and revealing all the options you have available to you.

And this doesn’t involve never-ending variations either; each idea is demonstrated with examples from Super GM play so you learn how the very best players overcome the toughest obstacles.

Here are some of the openings you’ll be able to master:

The King’s Indian Defense.

Follow in the footsteps of Fischer and Kasparov and become an attacking legend, racking up points as Black, no matter which variation White plays!

The London System.

The perfect choice for players who don’t have much time to spend on openings. Play it against nearly anything Black comes up with and decide whether you want to subject them to a positional queenside squeeze or a terrifying kingside attack.

The Accelerated Dragon.

Chess Openings Mastery - GM Damian Lemos Deep Dive Collection

The Accelerated Dragon – Initial Position

Get positions you love with Damian’s system based on rapid development and seizing the initiative the moment White makes a natural-looking mistake!

The Double Fianchetto system (b3 and g3)

This system is quickly becoming a favorite of players like Vladimir Kramnik. Incredibly flexible, full of attacking potential and very easy for your opponent to slip up against.

The Sicilian Taimanov.

Sidestep all the Najdorf theory – and your rivals’ preparation – with lines that blunt White’s attack and give you great counterplay early in the game.

The Chigorin Defense.

2…Nc6! takes your opponent out of their comfort zone and onto your battlefield. The Chigorin has easy to learn plans, is positionally sound and full of dynamic attacking chances, like this “ordinary” position which can lead to White’s resignation in just 4 more moves!!

The Petroff Defense

The Petroff Defense, also known as the Russian Defense, was a favorite opening of both Karpov and Kramnik. The Petroff is as solid as a rock, easy to learn and offers a ton of ways to turn the tables on those 1.e4 players!

The Petroff is starting to come back in a big way with Fabiano Caruana just one of the top GMs who relies on it when it matters.

The English Opening

The English Opening GM Damian Lemos (Lemos Deep Dive Vol. 10)Playing the English Opening can be a vital alternative for all 1.e4- and 1.d4-players who are tired of repeatedly entering the highly theoretical terrain of all the main lines Black can choose from.

The English Opening allows the White player to immediately take the opponent out of his comfort zone by playing a move which is not as frequently played as 1.e4 or 1.d4.

In contrast to White’s two main moves 1.e4 and 1.d4, White takes control over the center (especially the d5-square) by moving a flank pawn. The fight for the d5-square is paramount in the English Opening.

The Scandinavian Defense

The Scandinavian Defense is a tough nut to crack. Thanks to the efforts of GM Sergey Tiviakov and other strong GMs, the Scandinavian in general, and the 3…Qd6-line in particular, have attracted more and more attention recently and have found their way back to the tournament halls.

In this comprehensive 8-hour Deep Dive course, GM Damian Lemos builds up your knowledge of this powerful opening weapon, demonstrating how to combat each of White’s sidelines and mainlines in turn.

Have you ever had an opening you can really call your own? One that makes you feel super- confident and at ease, effortlessly getting winning positions while your opponent sweats under the pressure, eating up time on their clock?

Make this a reality by getting the inside track on one or more of Damian Lemos’ Deep Dive series: GM repertoires based on easy-to-learn strategies.

By the time you have completed each course, you will be playing at a level far superior to your rivals.

Chess Tactics in The French Defense – GM Mihail Marin

Chess Tactics in The French Defense – GM Mihail Marin

If you want to know an opening, you should be familiar with its typical positional ideas and remember the most important theoretical lines. But this is not enough.

Every opening has its own stock of tactical motifs. Therefore, you also have to know the typical tactical patterns which frequently occur in your opening.

GM Mihail Marin’s course on the essential patterns in the French Defense gives you a complete understanding of typical tactical and strategic patterns for both sides.

The French Defense is one of the most trusted openings in chess, popular at all levels from beginners to strong grandmasters.

It is a strategically and dynamically complex opening full of rich possibilities. Both sides have a multitude of tactical shots and ideas at their disposal thanks to the different asymmetrical pawn structures and imbalances which occur from the different variations.

It is a perfect opening for players who prefer to understand key strategical and tactical ideas rather than memorize an endless amount of theoretical variations.

About the Author:

Mihail Marin is a Romanian chess Grandmaster and a very popular chess coach and author. Marin’s first major success in international chess was qualifying for the Interzonal in 1987.

He has won the Romanian Championships on three occasions and has played in the Chess Olympiads ten times, winning a bronze individual medal in 1988. For several years he was editor of the magazine Chess Extra press.

GM Mihail Marin is one of the most respected coaches in the world today having trained the young Judit Polgar and being praised for his ability to explain deep chess truths in a way improving players can understand.

How is this course going to help me?

The French Defense is a chess opening for Black against 1.e4. It is a semi-closed opening and has the reputation of being resilient and solid. It occurs after the moves 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5.

Chess Tactics in The French Defense – GM Mihail Marin

Analyzing the French Defense can be a good starting point to learn both strategy and tactics because it is a complex opening full of rich possibilities for both sides.

In his course, GM Mihail Marin analyzes typical motifs for Black and White.

Black needs to be familiar with several critical ideas and plans for White. It is of paramount importance to be familiar with the most common recurring tactical themes for both sides.

Chess strategy and chess tactics often go hand in hand. On the one hand, you often need to make use of small tactical details in order to execute strategic ideas.

On the other hand, you can play a strong positional game, but most of the time you’ll need to find a tactical blow to finish off the game.

Here’s part of what you’ll learn with this course:

White’s Thematic f4-f5 Plan

One of the most characteristic pawn structures of the French Defense arises after the moves 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.e5 c5 4.c3 (see the diagram below).

Chess Tactics in The French Defense – GM Mihail Marin

We’ve reached a pawn structure where the position is closed. White has a space advantage in the center of the board due to his advanced e5-pawn.

However, Black’s pawn structure is solid and without any weaknesses. Both sides have their own pawn chains, White’s being c3-d4-e5 and Black’s being f7-e6-d5.

White’s pawn chain points towards the kingside, which indicates on which side of the board he should play. White often gets good attacking prospects on the kingside.

A typical idea for White is to carry out the advance of the f-pawn with f2-f4-f5, putting pressure on the Black pawn chain.

The Blocked Center – Black’s Strategic and Tactical Ideas

According to GM Mihail Marin, there are two principled reactions for Black when he is confronted with a White f-pawn on the fifth rank.

One idea for Black is to capture on f5 with his e-pawn and to bring a knight to e6. Due to the fact that knights are excellent blockading pieces, the knight is perfectly placed on e6.

Black can sometimes keep his extra pawn on f5 for some time or even support it with …g6. What’s more, the move …exf5 allows Black to free his problem piece, the light-squared bishop, which then can be activated via c8.

However, one should remember that …exf5 is only reliable when there are no good immediate breaks for White with e5-e6 in sight.

White’s Kingside Piece Sacrifices

Chess Tactics in The French Defense – GM Mihail MarinThe structure with a closed center in the French Defense offers White another attacking plan. If the Black king has already castled kingside, a piece sacrifice on the kingside becomes an option for White.

With Black pawns on h7 g7 and f7, White has three targets for a sacrifice. The f7-square is usually well defended by a Black rook which decreases White’s chances for a successful sacrifice. Yet, with the Black king still in the center, a sacrifice on f7 becomes an option.

A sacrifice on h7 is possible on some special occasions. Usually, this sacrifice involves a White bishop on the b1-h7 diagonal, a White knight on f3 which can come to g5 with a check and a White queen which then joins the action on the kingside.

A key target for a White piece sacrifice is g7. The g7-pawn has the important task to cover the squares h6 and f6. Once it is no longer there, White gets access to these squares – often with decisive effect.

The aim of this course is to improve your understanding of the typical tactical and strategic themes in the French Defense, as well as to practice them in the included quizzes featuring carefully selected test positions.

Enjoy this course!

Chess Tactics in The Benko Gambit – IM Robert Ris

Chess Tactics in The Benko Gambit – IM Robert Ris

The Benko Gambit – Initial Position

The Benko Gambit (also known as the Volga Gambit) is a chess opening for Black against 1.d4. It occurs after the moves 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 c5 3.d5 b5

The opening got its name in honor of the Hungarian-American Grandmaster Pal Benko, who contributed a lot to the theoretical development of the gambit in the 1960s and 1970s.

In 1974, he published the book The Benko Gambit in which he provided many new ideas and suggestions for Black.

The Benko Gambit has stood the test of time and is still widely employed in the 21st century by Grandmasters and club players alike.

IM Robert Ris’ course on the essential tactics and strategic ideas in the Benko Gambit gives you a complete understanding of typical tactical and strategic patterns for both sides.

The Benko Gambit is a sound, refreshing alternative for all Black players who are tired to play the absolute main lines like the Slav Defense or the Grunfeld Defense against 1.d4. It’s a strategically and dynamically complex opening full of tactical possibilities.

About the Author:

Robert Ris is a Dutch International Master.

Ris learned how to play chess from his father when he was eight years old, and started playing in SV Amstelveen. In 2002 he started playing for SC Utrecht, and, later, in other clubs.

In the same year, he also won the Open Dutch Youth Chess Championship, which he had also won the D category (up to 12 years) in 1999. Ris has been an international chess coach since 2007. He was also part of the selection of Young Orange.

How is this course going to help me?

Every opening has its own stock of tactical motifs. Therefore, you also have to know the typical tactical patterns which frequently occur in your opening.

If you want to master an opening, you must become familiar with its typical positional ideas and remember the most important theoretical lines. But this is not enough, you also need to know what are the common chess tactics in that opening.

IM Robert Ris is here to you everything you need to know about the most common chess tactics in the Benko Gambit. You’ll be able to learn all the tactical patterns that could occur in the type of positions arising after this sharp opening.

Here’s part of what you’re getting with this course:

Dozens of Beautiful Tactical Ideas

This is possibly the most tactically rich opening in chess! You’ll have an unlimited amount of shocking sacrifices to devastate even your strongest opponents

Domination on the Dark Squares

Chess Tactics in The Benko Gambit – IM Robert RisWith his strong dark-squared bishop on g7, Black usually has control over some key dark-squares in the center and on the queenside. This can quickly lead to tactical ideas for Black.

In the position at hand, Black has the possibility to free his dark-squared bishop with the move 19…d3! White is in huge trouble. 20.Qxd3 d5!! 21.Bxd5 c4+! (see the diagram in the right), for example, loses the
queen.

Easy to Follow Plans

There’s a little bit of theory — but essentially, your plans will be the same. A few powerful knight maneuvers, a few subtle pawn thrusts and yep…that’s about all you need to remember!

Zero Danger

This is what every attacking player dreams of…easy attack with zero counterplay for the opponent! Instead, white is forced to just try to “hold onto his extra pawn” and hope for the best.

The funny thing? Even without your ongoing attack — the pawn sac gives black FULL positional compensation anyway!

This is an opening that brought points (and brilliancy prizes!) to attacking masterminds like Kasparov and Topalov…now let’s see what it can do for you.

Enjoy this awesome course!

In this new 7-hour video course IM Arthur Shen REVEALS his entire chess opening repertoire for Black, which allowed him to go from 1400 to over 2500 Elo!

Grandmaster Secrets – Practical Play with GM Alex Lenderman

Grandmaster Blitz Secrets – Practical Play with GM Alex LendermanOne of the major mistakes over 95% of club players make is working on different aspects of the game and never utilizing them together.

Club players learn chess openings, middlegames, and endings separately, but never see those elements working hand-in-hand. Grandmasters, on the other hand, know how to employ all those to create a masterful win.

Everything is interconnected and one stage serves as a continuation of the other – in full harmony.

That’s why you get that feeling of “effortlessness” after observing a GM game. Grandmasters have many “secrets” of practical [aka effective] play that they use for achieving those effortless wins.

This is something very important for any chess player, but unfortunately next to impossible to master on your own.

Or at least it was the case until today…

To help you learn how GMs work during the tournaments and apply their knowledge we did something quite extraordinary. We’ve set up a 20-game Blitz Match at Columbia University between the former Youth World Blitz Champion GM Maxim Dlugy and GM Alexandr Lenderman.

Lenderman played for USA team in the 2015 World Team Chess Championship in Tsaghkadzor and scored 5/7, winning the gold medal on the second board.

The Art of Attacking the King in Chess – The King Hunt Part 2

Almost 300 new games are examined as Mato deconstructs some of the greatest attacks on the king ever played, teaching you how to win games in the most satisfying way imaginable!

Want to win more games with exciting onslaughts and create works of art you’re proud to show to others? Learn the art of attacking the king in chess with The King Hunt (Part 2) with Mato Jelic!

About the Author:

Mato Jelic is one of the most popular chess presenters and teachers, whose focus is mainly on helping beginners reach new heights. His lessons are simple and effective – and thousands of novices are swarming to them for chess tips.

Mato Jelic is a quiet-spoken chess coach and his style makes it very easy for players of any level to understand what he is explaining and really absorb the knowledge provided.

Is this course for me?

The ability to successfully attacking the king in chess is an essential skill for any ambitious chess player. To develop a good sense of when to start an attack, how to build up an attack, when it is best not to start an attack, and to improve your attacking abilities, you need to absorb and study plenty of attacking patterns.

Throughout this course, Mato Jelic provides you with hundreds of tactical patterns to study and later recognize in your own games.

Tactical pattern recognition helps you to improve your calculation as patterns you’ve noticed in the past come to your mind in your games.

Mato Jelic’s examples in this course are well-structured and based on five elementary attacking patterns like the sacrifice on h7/h2 or the sacrifice on g6/g3. This structure follows simple tactical concepts which leads you to find more targets in own games.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

The Sacrifice on h7/h2 – The Greek Gift Sacrifice

The Art of Attacking the King in Chess – The King Hunt Part 2Right after castling, the h2 or h7 squares become a target. The rook doesn’t protect the square anymore and it is solely protected by the king. This weakness often stays a motif for combinations until the late middlegame.

A sacrifice on h7 is possible on some special occasions. Usually, this sacrifice involves a White bishop on the b1-h7 diagonal, a White knight on f3 which can come to g5 with a check and a White queen which then joins the action on the kingside.

In the position o the right, White can play 1.Bxh7+! Kxh7 2.Ng5+ Kg8 3.Qh5 (threatening mate on h7) 3…Re8 4.Qxf7+ Kh8 5.Nxe6!, attacking the Black queen and threatening mate on g7. Black is totally lost.

The Sacrifice on f6/f3

The f3 square in White’s camp and the equivalent on f6 in Black’s camp are particularly endangered with a kingside-castled king.

There is often a knight on these squares which tends to be a key defender of the kingside. Therefore, sacrifices to eliminate this defending piece are looming.

The Art of Attacking the King in Chess – The King Hunt Part 2In the diagram to the right, White has concentrated his pieces on the kingside before the attack. Before he launches a massive attack, he mkes all the necessary preparations. The more pieces there are in the attack, the higher the chances of success.

In this example, White eliminated one of the last defenders of Black’s kingside with the exchange sacrifice 1.Rxf6! gxf6 2.Bxh6 and there was no defense for Black against the mating attack.

Sometimes, you can also sacrifice a piece on f3 or f6 when this square is empty. The idea can be to destroy the opponent’s pawn structure in front of the king to close any escape routes for the enemy’s king

By absorbing as many of these patterns as possible, you’ll be able to identify pieces or squares which are perhaps exploitable. This can also help you to spot the not-so-obvious moves.

How is this course going to help me?

Before he launches a massive attack, he makes all the necessary preparations.

Attacking Chess System with IM Alex Ostrovskiy and IM Arthur Shen

Attacking chess is something that all players want to perfect. It makes a lot of sense because delivering checkmate is the ultimate goal of the game.

Surprisingly, not many chess players spend time working on attacking skills. They work on solving tactics, studying openings, drilling endgames but not on “how to attack your opponent to win games”. It sounds contradictory, but it is very true for most club players.

This course includes a powerful toolkit on how to conduct strong and vicious attacks against opponents of any level. We are very delighted to finally bring you a universal system of attack that helped IM Alex Ostrovskiy and IM Arthur Shen at beating many strong and very strong opponents.

You probably know that maneuvering and positional chess has many rules. There are rules covering how to play against an isolated pawn, how to convert advantages, how to play against the king in the center, and the list goes on and on.

Attacking chess has its own rules…

Throughout this course, IM Alex Ostrovskiy and IM Arthur Shen will make you familiar with those rules. You will learn how to follow them, how to determine whether the position calls for an attack and how to conclude an attack in the best possible way. This will make a huge difference in your game.

How do I benefit from this?

Simply developing pieces and hoping to achieve a strong attacking position doesn’t work anymore. You need to have a system of thinking that helps you at making decisions and allows executing powerful attacks.

It is not an accident that IMs and GMs are better-attacking players than those lower rated players. That’s because they have a system of how to launch an attack, how to keep it going and how to finish it in style with a big exclamation mark.

This course goes over specifics of this powerful attacking system. You will witness both IM Ostrovskiy and IM Shen employing the system to achieve many devastating victories against players of all levels, including International Masters and even Grandmasters.

IM Ostrovskiy and IM Shen teamed up and compiled a “complete blueprint” of the thinking process behind a successful attack. They used a decade of their experience to produce this perfectly structured course, the sole purpose of which is helping you to become a much better attacking player.

Chess Opening Crash Course with GM Maxim Dlugy

Chess Openings Crash Course with GM Maxim Dlugy

Every club player wants to have a Grandmaster level chess opening preparation. However, once you start working on the openings you realize exactly how time-consuming that is.

You may spend days studying a single line, which you’ll probably never see in any of your games.

And that’s very disappointing…

The theory found in books is generally very advanced, with zillions of mainlines, sub-lines, sub-variations, off-beat lines… you name it.

To understand just a little bit of a single opening you need to go through dozens of variations, and unless you have a photographic memory that simply won’t work.  Club players cannot spend months studying a single opening for black pieces!

We understand that!

How wonderful would be to spend just 2 hours of your time and to understand the main ideas and plans behind 20 different openings? Would you feel more confident playing your next game if you knew that there are no d4-lines out there that can catch you off-guard?

Well, here is your chance. GM Maxim Dlugy has compiled his 20 years of chess opening theory experience into a single crash course.

You won’t learn how to outplay Kasparov or Carlsen out of the opening. What you will learn is how to play high quality opening moves against any under 2200 rated opponent. That’s exactly what >95% of club players need!

About the Author:

Maxim Dlugy is a chess International Grandmaster originally born in Moscow, USSR. He moved to the United States with his family in 1977. He was only an average player for his age until his strength exploded in the early 1980s.

Always a strong speed chess player, Dlugy was formerly ranked number one in the world by the World Blitz Chess Association.

Besides winning many international events, and being the highest rated junior player in the world from ages 15 to 20, he has represented the U.S. chess teams in international team competitions, including the Chess Olympiad and has written articles and chess books on many different chess themes, including his own autobiographical book – ‘Grandmaster Insides’.

Recently he has proven that his practical strength is still formidable by winning two back to back Grandmaster Charity Blitz Championships in May of 2017 and 2018, ahead of more than a dozen grandmasters.

Grandmaster Decision Making with GM Alex Lenderman

How many times have you found yourself in a situation when you think your opponent has made a mistake?

You look at the move and think “it must be a blunder”. You even know how to take advantage of it. Oftentimes, things are not as simple as they seem at first glance.

In fact, some of those “mistakes” are not mistakes at all, but tricky moves. If you don’t understand the position well enough you may buy into it, ruining the game.

What should you do about it?

Make good decisions – win more games!

By incorrectly interpreting your opponent’s move as a mistake you will make a mistake yourself the very next move!

In the first part of this video course, top American Grandmaster Alex Lenderman teaches you not to assume that your opponent’s move is a mistake, until absolutely sure. GM Lenderman provides many illustrative examples demonstrating this important concept.

He shares his own, personal thinking methods which help him at precisely identifying dangerous moments in the game and resolving it in his favor.

About the Author:

Grandmaster Decision Making with GM Alex Lenderman

How is this going to help me?

Grandmaster Decision Making with GM Alex LendermanThe second very important concept in chess is the complete opposite of the first one.  Even if your opponent is a significantly stronger player, it by no means implies his play is flawless.

You shouldn’t be intimidated by your opponent’s credentials and expect perfection. Many players underperform simply because they overestimate their opponent strength.

Yes, he may be a higher rated player, but it should not psychologically affect your game.  In the second part of this video course, GM Lenderman teaches how to approach stronger opponents to maximize your chances for success.

This is a must-have material for all under 2200 rated chess players.

What you will learn?

  • Critical aspects of chess psychology that will help you at getting an edge over your competition
  • Grandmaster techniques for finding and exploiting your opponent’s mistakes and weaknesses
  • Step-by-step grandmaster decision making algorithm that will help you even in toughest positions
  • Rules that you always need to follow when making decisions in your games
  • Thinking process that GM Lenderman uses in every single game with great success [and you can too]
  • Powerful ideas that will help you at facing those higher rated players
  • and much more!

How to Play The Slav Defense – GM Damian Lemos

The Slav defense belongs to the group of closed chess openings for Black and occurs after the moves 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6.

The opening was named in honor of several strong players from Slavic countries, including well-known names like Semyon Alapin, Alexander Alekhine and Efim Bogoljubov, who contributed many ideas to its development.

It is one of the most trusted openings in chess, popular at all levels from beginner to strong grandmasters. It has been a regular guest in World Chess Championship Matches throughout history.

For many 1.d4-players, the Slav Defense represents an impenetrable wall, too tough a nut to crack. In fact, the Slav Defense is one of the main reasons why plenty of 1.d4-players give up opting for mainlines and try their luck with more surprising sidelines.

While it is true that the Slav is solid, that isn’t to say that it is an opening weapon simply used to make a draw. In fact, it carries some hidden bite. On many occasions, for example, Black can capture the White c4-pawn with his d-pawn and defend it with the move …b7-b5, claiming immediately an extra pawn.

In this comprehensive 8-hour Deep Dive course, GM Damian Lemos builds up your knowledge of this powerful opening weapon, demonstrating how to combat each of the main variations in turn.

How is this course going to help me?

How to Play The Slav Defense – GM Damian Lemos

The Slav Defense – Initial Position

If you’re looking for a chess opening for Black against 1.d4 which is solid, does not require an endless amount of theory to memorize and still offers decent chances to outplay your opponents, play the Slav Defense!

One thing that makes the Slav Defense so trendy in modern days is that even though opening theory continuously develops and incredibly strong engines frequently find novelties and new approaches, there is still no easy way for White to get an advantage against this opening.

Apart from a huge theory section which covers all reasonable setups for White to play against the Slav Defense, GM Damian Lemos shows how these ideas play out in practice through the analysis of instructive games, making sure you’re ready with the most powerful reply!

Here’s just part of what you’ll learn:

The Fianchetto System

How to Play The Slav Defense – GM Damian Lemos

The Slav Defense – Fianchetto System

The move 4.g3 (diagram) leads to a relatively rare and harmless sideline which Black does not need to fear. It is usually played by Catalan/Reti players who do not want to enter the theoretical mainlines.

However, the setups with the bishop on g2 against the Slav Defense are only good for White if the Black light-squared bishop is boxed inside his own pawn chain (the positions where Black played an early …e6 before bringing the bishop out).

After 4.g3, Black easily manages to bring out his bishop to the active squares of f5 or g4. White’s bishop on g2, in contrast, usually bites on granite on the h1-a8 diagonal as Black has the solid b7-c6-d5 pawn chain.

The Exchange Variation

The Slav Defense Exchange Variation is a tricky line to meet for two reasons.

First of all, in the hands of a well-prepared White player, it looks harmless on the surface but there are many subtle opening traps that can lead to a dangerous White initiative on the queenside.

The Exchange Variation has long been known to be a calm line, used by White players who only want to draw. In recent years, however, this variation gained mainline status and plenty of new ideas were found by White players.

In these lines, Black can’t play on autopilot but needs to know some precise moves. Secondly, most Slav players don’t like to face this line against weaker opponents who only want to make a draw in a very symmetrical position.

After watching this course you’ll be able to play this strong defense against opponents of even much higher rating than you and still obtain a comfortable position for a positive result.

Enjoy this course!
